Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) and LSI Medience Corporation (hereinafter, “LSI Medience”) have launched COVID-19 testing in the Philippines on April 13th, 2020 through their Joint Venture Company, Medi Linx Laboratory Inc. (hereinafter, “Medi Linx”), in partnership with Metro Pacific Hospitals Holdings, Inc. (hereinafter, “MPHHI”), the largest private hospital group in the Republic of the Philippines. From the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, public medical institutions have been primarily responsible for COVID-19 testing in the Philippines. However, as the virus continues to spread, private medical institutions have also started COVID-19 testing in order to increase testing capacity. The Medi Linx venture has established a COVID-19 testing environment that is able to process a maximum of 200 testing per day, making use of the both testing equipment and people sourced locally in the Philippines. Medi Linx continues to proactively and passionately support COVID-19 testing.
Since the establishment of Medi Linx in 2017 at Makati Medical Center, one of the largest private hospital in Metro Manila, Marubeni and LSI Medience have been jointly developing cutting-edge clinical testing services and have conducted intensive employee training. This work has contributed to the development of improved medical infrastructure which is essential to the health of society in the Philippines.
