Maynilad Water Services, Inc.

In February 2013, Marubeni acquired a 20% equity stake in Maynilad Water Services, Inc., a water and sewerage utility company in the Republic of the Philippines.

Maynilad provides a full range of water services, including water and sewerage treatment, the operation and maintenance of water and sewage networks, and metering and water charge collection in 17 municipalities of the western part of Metro Manila under a concession agreement with the Philippine government. The population in the service area is about 9.5 million, which corresponds to almost 10 percent of the Philippines' total population. It is the largest private water utility in the Philippines in terms of the customer base.
